1 Definitions

Us - Us means the people who own and run www.artstu.co.uk

We - we refers to the people who own and run www.artstu.co.uk

You - you refers to the person who views any work on this website or exhibits work on this website

Artist - artist refers to the person who has created and has copyright to all the work they submit to this website

Submit - submit refers to the action of filling out the submit work form, uploading their work and pressing the Submit your work button

Submission - submission refers to any material in any form that you have sent to us by any of the means we have provided for you

Search - search refers to the act of searching our database for artists work by what ever means available

buying - buying refers to you sending money to the value of the artwork in question by PayPal to us in exchange for the artwork in question

Selling - selling refers to the artist placing the work that the artist has created on this website for public viewing and with the artists permission public sale

Work - work refers to the object, whether physical or a digital creation on a computer, the artist has created in what ever media the artist has chosen and a copy of that object being placed on this website in the form of a picture and/or a video clip

Artwork - artwork refers to the object, whether physical or a digital creation on a computer, the artist has created in what ever media the artist has chosen and a copy of that object being placed on this website in the form of a picture and/or a video clip

Creator - creator refers to the person who originally made the work in question that you see and/or hear and who also has copyright to the work in question

Links - links refers to text and/or images that by clicking on will take you to a website outside of this website and of which we do not own or control

2 Submitting work

When you submit work to us you must fill out all the required fields, these are indicated by an * and you must also follow all of the other instructions that you see on the submit work page. Failure to do so will void your submission.
Filling out the submit work form does not guarantee that your work will feature on this website. In the event this occurs you will be notified. Reasons for an unsuccessful submission do not need to be given to you but we will put every effort into trying.


3 The work you submit

The work you submit to us has to be your work, you must be the creator of this work and subsequently have copyright to it.
We do not tolerate plagiarism and copyright infringement, if you are to be committing plagiarism you will be banned from submitting work to us and legal action may be taken against you.

We accept work in the following file formats: (Images) .tiff, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .png (Movies) .avi, .mov, .mpeg, .swf and .wmv (Audio) .mp3, .wma, .wav. All work sent to us must be under 600kb in size, any work larger than this will be rejected when you try to submit your work.

We recommend you save your video files as a .wmv at a frame size of 320 x 240 and at a file size of around 500kb, the play back of this file is limited in quality but we still think its good enough for people to watch. If you are experiencing any difficulties with changing your file format and size please contact us.


4 Searching for work and viewing work

All work you search for on this website and all work you look at on this website is copyright protected, it remains the ownership of the artist unless it is sold, work that is sold maybe still hold artistic rights in favour of the creator of the work in question.

You cannot copy, use or sell anything and any work you find on this website unless written permission is given to you first by the artist or creator of the work in question.

You will find links on this website in the links section and other areas of this website. These links will take you to websites outside of artstu.co.uk and therefore out of our control. We are not held responsible for anything that happens as a result of you clicking on a link on this website which takes you to an external website.
However we monitor as best we can the links on this website for suitability. We actively promote and support safe browsing online.

6 Privacy

At artstu.co.uk we take your privacy very serious, we would not like it if our private details were miss-used and abused and so would not do this to anyone else.

We would never send or sell any of your details onto anyone else unless you gave us written permission to do so first. We work in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act.

7 Account Deletion

We are always sorry to hear when an artist wants to leave artstu. But if in the unfortunate case you want to leave artstu please contact us using the email address that used to register your artstu account and simply request your account to be deleted.
Please note that deletion of an account is permanent. All data and images of artwork saved in our database will be deleted and cannot be recovered.
